Draftedly vs Qwilr: Which Is Better for Freelancers and Small Studios?
Qwilr turns proposals, quotes, and reports into interactive web pages. It is polished, it connects to CRMs, and it is built for sales teams who send a lot of documents and want detailed analytics on how each one is read.
Draftedly takes a narrower approach. It does the proposal, the signature, and the deposit in one link, aimed at freelancers and small studios.
They overlap on the core idea of a web based proposal instead of a PDF. They differ on price structure, who the plans are designed for, and what you pay for as you grow.
Qwilr's pricing and features were checked in November 2026 on its own website. Plans change often, so confirm current details on Qwilr's pricing page before you decide.
The short version
Choose Qwilr if you run a sales team, you need CRM integrations such as HubSpot, Zoho, Pipedrive, or Salesforce, or you want advanced automation and long analytics history.
Choose Draftedly if you are a freelancer or small studio, you want payments and custom branding without moving up a plan, and you do not want to think about per document fees.

Pricing for a small team
Qwilr's price structure matters more than the headline number. Starter is $35 per user a month billed annually, which is $420 a year per person. The next plan, Growth, is $55 per user and starts at five seats, so the smallest Growth account is $275 a month, billed annually. Growth is also where custom branding appears.
That jump is the main thing a small studio runs into. A team of three that wants its own branding on proposals cannot simply move up one step. It has to reach five seats first.
Draftedly Pro is $12 per seat a month billed annually, or $19 monthly, with branding and payments available on every plan. Team seats are on the way. Proposals sent on the free plan carry a small "Powered by Draftedly" footer, which Pro removes.
Qwilr also charges per document beyond its plan allowances, at $2.50 each on pay as you go, with discounted credit bundles. That is reasonable for a sales team with predictable volume. For a freelancer whose volume is uneven, it makes each proposal a small cost to think about. Draftedly has no per proposal fees, and Pro sends are unlimited.
Getting paid
On Draftedly, the client opens one link, signs, and pays the deposit on the same page. Deposits and milestone payments go through Stripe Connect into your own Stripe account. Draftedly does not hold your money.
Qwilr also takes payments through Stripe with QwilrPay, which adds its own percentage fee on the Starter plan, and Stripe's fees apply on top. Higher plans reduce that fee to zero.

How the proposal looks
Qwilr is known for designed, interactive pages, and it is good at it. Sales teams use it to make proposals feel like a product page.
Draftedly aims for something similar in spirit but simpler to set up. You build the proposal block by block, choose from eight visual styles, and apply your logo and brand color once so it carries through.
If you want to see what a complete proposal contains regardless of the tool, our freelance proposal template walks through every section.
Where Qwilr is the better choice
- You sell through a CRM. Native HubSpot, Zoho, Pipedrive, and Salesforce connections.
- You send high volumes with consistent content. Per document pricing and credit bundles are designed for it.
- You want automation. Workflows and conditional content on higher plans.
- You need long analytics history. Higher plans keep more data for longer.
- You have a dedicated sales team. Permissions and success management come with the bigger plans.
If that describes you, Qwilr is a strong tool and Draftedly is too small for you.
Where Draftedly is the better choice
- You are a freelancer or a studio of a few people. No seat minimums and no jump to a five seat plan.
- You want branding and payments from the start. Neither is held back for a higher plan.
- You do not want per document fees. Unlimited sends on Pro and a free plan to begin.
- You want to start without a trial clock. The free plan is permanent, with 10 sent proposals.
- You want to be sending proposals today. No CRM to connect or automation to configure.
The verdict
Qwilr is a sales team tool with a lot of depth. Draftedly is a proposal tool for people who want to get signed and paid without that depth.
If your proposals live inside a CRM and a team workflow, choose Qwilr. If you want one link that carries the proposal, the signature, and the deposit, at a price per seat with no minimums, Draftedly is simpler to start with and to grow.
